Senior Swimming

First swim for us Senior School Students

Some of us are new to the senior end of the kura. We were nervous, some of us had anxiety and the water was cold. We got used to the temperature of the water almost straight away. We were all extremely grateful for the swim because the day was super hot! The temperature was something like 21 degrees and that was at 9am!!

We were split up into groups so our teachers could see what water skills we have and what we need to work on. Some of us tried new things like swim to the bottom of the diving pool, but that didn't work out!
Some of us learnt that swimming is not all about freestyle, breaststroke or backstroke, but keeping ourselves safe and knowing what to do should we find ourselves in unfortunate circumstances like getting stuck in a rip or falling out of a boat.

After our lessons, we were allowed to have 15 minutes freetime. We all had a blast! Some of us jumped off the high diving board and the extra clever children dived off that very same board!

Touchpad Tips

We learned...that if we wanted to highlight something or copy and paste something we triple click. We also learned that if we want to resize things, we click with one finger and drag with one finger on the other hand. Furthermore, we learned that if we use the three finger swipe we can go between screens.

We found it difficult to...some of us found it hard to find the polyline. Moving the polyline to form a star shape was a little challenging.

Kia ora, we are Tui!

 Kia ora, we are Tui!

Our class is named after a bird that is native to New Zealand, the Tui.

In our class we do great work, go on awesome trips, we play inter school sports and we play cool games like no ball touch.

We love to play outside.

We do some awesome learning in our class. We’re really proud of our art inspired by Warren Pohatu and Toroa, which is the class next door to us.

We have shared a picture of a piece of work we are really proud of on the slide presentation. We would love to know what you think of them!
